May Reading List..

One good thing about Louisiana is the public library system. You will find a branch in most towns small and large. There is a small branch here in Erath that we visit on a weekly basis. They have a reading program every Thursday and the summer reading program begins June 1. This has become a special event for Hannah. She enjoys playing in the children's area, picking out her books for the week, and best of all the check out process. This is what was on our May reading list.

We love the Seashore by Kate Tym

On a beautiful day when Dad does not have to go to work, a family goes to the beach for games, swimming, a picnic, a visit to an amusement park, and more. Includes recipes and activities.

The Baby Beebee Bird by Diane Redfield Massie

The zoo animals find a way to find a way to keep the baby beebee bird awake during the day so that they can get some sleep at night.

Albert and Sarah Jane by  Malachy Doyle

When Albert the dog steals the cat's fishy nibbles, Sarah Jane, the cat, moves next door, but she misses having a great big cat dog cuddle by the fire.

Bubba and Beau Go Night Night by Kathi Appelt
Even after a long day of running errands, baby Bubba and his puppy Beau are not ready for bedtime.
Duck and Cover by Jackie Urbanovic
Irene and her menagerie of pets, including Max the duck, take in an alligator who has run away from the zoo, in spite of grave concerns about his voracious appetite.
Goodnight Nola by Cornell P. Landry
A story about saying goodnight to all things New Orleans.
Bamboo and Friends The Furry Caterpillar by Felicia Law
Bamboo, Velvet and Beak receive a big surprise when Bamboo's furry pillow turns out not to be a pillow at all.

Piglet and Papa by Margaret Wild
When piglet's beloved father chases her away after she plays too rough, all of the barnyard animals try to make her feel better, but piglet is still afraid that her father no longer loves her.
All of these books were fun to read and have great illustrations, but Hannah's hands down favorites off of this list were Albert and Sarah Jane and Bubba and Beau Go Night Night.
